{"id":1678,"date":"2015-11-02T13:59:58","date_gmt":"2015-11-02T21:59:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hospiceyukon.net\/press\/?p=83"},"modified":"2021-02-23T23:15:49","modified_gmt":"2021-02-23T23:15:49","slug":"share-a-loved-ones-clothing-at-lights-of-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hospiceyukon.net\/fr\/2015\/11\/02\/share-a-loved-ones-clothing-at-lights-of-life\/","title":{"rendered":"Share a loved one&#8217;s clothing at Lights of Life"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Do you own a special piece of clothing that once belonged to a loved one who died? \u00a0Perhaps Grandpa&#8217;s special vest, Grandma&#8217;s apron, dad&#8217;s old coat, mom&#8217;s dressing gown, or a favourite t-shirt that belonged to a sibling? \u00a0These are precious items that are so much more than clothes.<\/p>\n<p>They hold memories\u00a0of the person who once wore them &#8211; their familiar smell, and a powerful reminder of their habits and who they were.\u00a0The clothing of our loved ones can remind\u00a0us of\u00a0their presence, as well as provide some comfort through the grief after they died.<\/p>\n<p>Hospice is looking for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hospiceyukon.net\/clothing_display.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">submissions <\/a>of these precious items to be part of a public display at Lights of Life this year.\u00a0We will present clothing and stories that invite us to remember our\u00a0loved ones\u00a0and witness memories taking on new form.<\/p>\n<p>Would you like to participate? \u00a0If so, please provide:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>one article of clothing that belonged to your loved one. This article will be returned to you after the display.<\/li>\n<li>a short piece of writing about the clothing.
